Professor S.M. Hassan Talukder joined the Rabindra University, Bangladesh as Vice-Chancellor on Monday.
After joining the RUB, he paid tribute to the martyrs of the War of Independence and the martyrs killed in the July-August uprising, placing wreaths at the Shaheed Minar of the university, and observed a minute of silence, said a press release.
He also paid tribute to the portrait of the Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore by placing a wreath.The treasurer Professor Feroz Ahmed, registrar (additional charge) Md. Golam Shorrowar, Chairpersons of different departments, Teachers, Students, Officers and Employees of the RUB were present at that moment.
‘The Rabindra University has many potential but the amount of resources as per demand is less, through the balanced use of these limited resources, we will take the RUB forward,’ said the VC.
He also urged the teachers, students, officers, employees and stakeholders of the university to play a cooperative role at a view-exchange with the different departments’ chairpersons, proctorial bodies, senior officials of the administration and students against discrimination of the university.
