Father of the Nation's birthday and Fresher reception at Rabindra University

On the occasion of the 103rd birthday of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the fresher reception , a two-day festival has been organized at the Rabindra Kanchari Bari premises at Rabindra University, founded in the name of the poet Rabindranath Tagore, at Shahjadpur, Sirajganj.
Discussions and colorful cultural programs were held under the chairmanship of Rabindra University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Shah Azam. Bangladesh's elite cricketer and MP Mashrafe Bin Mortuza was present as the orientation speaker on the first day of the event.
Bangladesh University Grants Commission Member Professor Dr. Dil Afroza Begum, Professor Dr. Md. Abu Taher and Rabindra University Treasurer Professor Dr. Feroz Ahmed were present there as guests.
At the beginning of the program, the teachers and students of Rabindra University performed the national anthem. After that, a documentary on Rabindra University was shown. The program was inaugurated by Rabindra University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Shah Azam.
Professor Dr. Md. Shah Azam said, "The father of the nation , Bangabandhu's dream was to establish a university named after the world poet Rabindranath Tagore in independent Bangladesh. This dream has been realized by his privileged daughter, the current Prime Minister, People's Leader Sheikh Hasina."
In other words, he has said that as like as the name of Bangabandhu, as the best Bengali in the world, is associated with the name of Rabindra University, in the same way, the university established in the name of Rabindranath Tagore will be of the world.
Cricketer and MP Mashrafe Bin Mortaza could not attend physically due to personal problems but gave a speech addressing the freshers through video conference. He urged the students to be good people along with studies.
After the discussion, the university vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Shah Azam welcomed the freshers with flowers. Then the first day ended with a colorful cultural program. Rabindra University will organize a day-long discussion and cultural program on the 103rd birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 17.
